Wing Chun Bristol
Adult sessions are available twice a week (see class details for times etc). Male and female adult members of all ages train alongside each other. The Wing Chun Art Study Group, although developing students’ fighting skills and an increased ability to protect themselves through the many health promoting exercises, also deepens the participants’ understanding of the philosophy and concepts within the Wing Chun system.
The Wing Chun System is an art form created over 300 hundred years ago in China. It has similarities to both yoga and Tai chi .The Wing Chun syllabus consists of 3 empty hand forms; the dummy, pole and knife form.
Siu Lim Tao (first form) can be practised at a slow, relaxed pace in order to get connected with the movements in motion. The first form can be used as a means to meditate and to promote relaxation and increase concentration, focus and peripheral vision, while becoming familiar with the techniques.
